Show me your papers

If you don’t have a passport in Belarusian society, you’re in trouble.

It’s like you don’t exist.

For the homeless of Minsk, it’s one of the most urgent problems.

Restoring a lost or stolen passport costs money — more than $20. An impossible sum.

But friends of New Thing, giving generously, empower our “Response of the Heart” team to provide free legal help to the homeless of Minsk.

We pay the fees, and a lawyer donates time to shepherd the paperwork through the system.

Not long ago, these 3 “signed on the dotted line” ... to have their identities officially restored.

Yet you weren’t just making them somebody legally ... You were saying something more:

You are somebody of value. You’re worthwhile. You’re loved.

Thank you for journeying with New Thing!

More adventures to come.

Much love,

Doug Brendel
