Know why this little girl is beaming?
This is Suzanna.
She lives in the boarding school for hearing-impaired children at Babruisk, in Belarus.
And she just learned to say her name!
She’s still working on the “S” sound and the “Z” sound, but she’s nailed the “N” and the vowels!
Click the photo and take 30 seconds to see (and HEAR) 3 little girls — Alina, Dasha, and Suzanna — proudly saying their own names.
The children in this boarding school, after they get their hearing aids or cochlear implants, have to learn to speak.
Saying your own name is top priority! :-)
We’re helping the 100+ children at this boarding school — providing sewing machines for the sewing class, and weather-tight windows to keep the kids warm in the winter.
As I write this, 15 generous friends have given to help, and we’ve made the goal!
Thanks from our “Response of the Heart” team, Director Natalya at Babruisk, and all the workers caring for the children.
Through your giving, you’re saying to these kids, “You’re somebody. You’re known. You’re important. You’re loved.”
Thanks for journeying with us!
Much love,
Doug Brendel
